Daily Hope
Postpartum Progress launched the first daily email support service for women with postpartum depression in January 2011. Daily Hope offers consistent encouragement to moms with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, with carefully crafted messages by Postpartum Progress’ founder Katherine Stone.
In its first year, Daily Hope grew to nearly 1,000 subscribers. Most were from the US, but we also had subscribers from Canada, Israel, Sweden, Namibia and New Zealand. We know this project is making an impact:
“I came downstairs this morning feeling awful and guilty and anxious and … and … the first words I read were from Daily Hope. ‘You are not defective or weak or a bad person.’ These words spoke straight to my heart and quieted the voices in my head. THANK YOU.” – H.W.
“Thank you so much for these messages. How wonderful to have that daily reminder that someone understands … and that someday I will be better!!! “ – K.M.
“Thanks for this Daily Hope. I needed that today … yesterday and the few days before were really awful. It is hard not to think that I am backsliding, but this helps keep it all in perspective.” – A.J.
“These emails are a great encouragement to me every day. Even when the quotes don’t directly relate to my situation the fact that I have a personal recognition every day of what I’m struggling with is very helpful.” — L.O.
