About
Nearly 1 million women each year suffer from postpartum depression. In fact, more women will have a mental illnesses related to pregnancy & childbirth annually than the combined number of new cases of stroke and breast cancer.
And it’s not just moms who suffer. Each year, the future health of at least 1 million of America’s children is at stake too. Children whose mothers’ PPD goes untreated have a high risk for future learning and behavioral problems, as well as future psychiatric illness themselves.
Despite this fact, only 15% of women with PPD ever receive professional help. We can fix this. Please help us.
Postpartum Progress Inc. is a non-profit focused on improving the health and well-being of women, children, families and communities by improving access to and quality of services and support for women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression.
